Mother’s Day Make-up and Photo Session Contest

Are you a mother? Do you have a mother? Do you know a mother? Great! This contest is just for you!!

My whole life my mom has always put my sister and I first. She was always buying us clothes before she bought herself clothes. She would forego sleep to stay up late helping us finish last-minute homework assignments. She would spend hours crimping my hair for our family Christmas dinner only to rush through styling her own.

(You think I’m joking about the crimped hair don’t you….here’s proof!)

That’s why this time of year it’s so important to give something special to our mothers (or to ourselves who are mothers).

I have teamed up with the fabulously talented Emily Percival from Primp Beauty Services to give one lucky lady a photo session with full make-up PLUS a fun gift basket full of beauty treats. Pretty awesome, huh?

To enter this contest it’s VERY easy.

In the comments below just tell me your favourite thing to do with your family (either your own children or your mom). Winner will be selected at random on Saturday April 16, 2016 at 8am.

  • Make-up will be provided by Primp Beauty Services for the mother only. No hair services are provided

I have many favorite things that I love doing with my family, but one of the best is lying with my kids at bedtime after they’ve been tucked in and reading books together, or just hearing about their day when it’s quiet and just us, with no distractions. Thanks for the chance to win such a great photo session!!

  2. Caroline Madore says:

One of my favourite things to do is to play outside with my son and watch him explore nature. He’s adventurous, curious and very mesmerized by everything outside.

My mom, aunt, grandma and I love spending time together and often, when I’m back home, we go shopping, have lunch and hang out afterwards. They are my favourite women!

  3. My favourite thing to do with my son is play outside, and watch how he takes in the world. He has taught me how to appreciate the simpler things in life; like a wonderful walk down the street or in the forest!

I am very lucky to be close to my family. Every year my cousins, aunts, grandmother and mother all get together for 72 hrs together. There is 15 of us every year, in one house … no phones, no technology, no kids, no spouses just us girls … just us getting caught up on each others lives over the past year. This tradition has been happening for 36 years (wth my Grandmother and Aunts/Mom) and the “youngers” my cousins and I were allowed to join 8 years ago, and just last year we added my younger cousins who are in their 20’s … so from age 86 right down to age 22 … It’s the best weekend all year!

  4. Tracey Schaffel says:

My favourite thing to do with my family is to have family dinners. I love to hear all about everyone’s day and to just have everyone all together. It doesn’t happen as often as I would like anymore as my kids are getting older and everyone’s schedule is so busy.

  5. Melanie G says:

As a new first time mom to a beautiful baby girl (turned 1 week old yesterday!) my favourite thing to do as a family of Three now (wow!) is cuddle in bed and watch her smile. She already does the funniest faces and gives us nice big gummy smiles 🙂 my husband and I are soaking up every ounce of her ‘newborness’ as we already feel time flying by!

  6. Shawna Abbotts says:

Mother of two, 13 and 16 yr.old girls. At this age the thing I enjoy most is just being able to spend time with them just talking about stuff. We are all so busy there’s nothing I enjoy more.

  7. Rosa Ramos says:

One of my favourite things to do with my teen sons is simply to drive long distances. We listen to music, I dance — they laugh! And we really get to talk. I have learned more about them in those rides than any other way.

  8. Chrissy Craig says:

My favourite thing to do with my son is go exploring outside. I grew up in a very country setting and love to expose my son to the same experiences that I had as a child. We expecially love taking our horse out for trail rides and exploring the wilderness by horseback!

  9. Erin Copeland says:

I have two young children, my son is 5 and my daughter is almost 2, and one of my favourite things is to sit back and watch them play and interact together when they don’t know I am watching. I love watching my son try to teach my daughter all kinds of new things and I love seeing the look of admiration on my daughter’s face as she looks up to her big brother and tries to copy what he does. One of my other favourite things is the quiet moments that I have with each of them at the end of the day when I am tucking them into bed at night and reading them stories. Life is always so hectic and it is nice to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness at the end of the day and getting to spend a few minutes enjoying one-on-one time with each of them.

I am also very close with my own Mom (she has always been and still is my best friend) and any time I get to spend some alone time just her and I is always time that I cherish.

  10. Ali David says:

Now that it is finally spring time, our favourite thing is going to the park to play on the swings! Since that’s about all my 6 month old can do there! We also love going for walks to visit grandma!

  11. Laurie says:

It always seems to work out that i wake up just a few minutes before my 3 year old son. My favorite thing to do is to wait for him to tip-toe out of his bed and sneak into ours while i pretend to sleep. I am currently 6 months pregnant, so my favorite part of the day is those few minutes where i cuddle with my son and husband in bed and wait to feel the baby kicking in the morning!

  12. Crystal Pruys says:

My favourite thing to do with my son is daughter is watch them bowl… They are in league and both excel every week. My daughter, at nine years of age, has already made it to provincials twice. My son was in his first tournament this year, at six years old, and placed bronze. They make me so proud to be their mom 🙂

  13. Andrée Levasseur says:

My family and I love the outdoors. My son Rémi is 8,5 months old and he loves taking walks and riding his little trike. He’s a very busy body and loves to crawl everywhere. He loves exploring his surrondings and making us run along after him. We would love to capture his adventures on film! Thank you. Happy “early” Mother’s Day to you! – Andrée, Roger & Rémi

  14. Marieve Gauthier says:

My favourite time is cuddle time before nap and bedtime because he is now 11 months and he’s a little tough guy that doesn’t like cuddling. They grow up so fast!

  15. Rebecca says:

I am mum to a fur baby (two year old poodle Zeus) and a six month human baby boy! My favourite moments with the two of them are our walks in the sunshine around our neighbourhood or off leash at the park AND the first feeding of the morning when my son just stares at me and smiles while gobbling up milk! The fur baby loves that feeding too because we sit in the early morning sunshine together and get ready for our day! Would love to win a photo session with my two favourite boys – and maybe their dad could join us lol 😉

  16. Carine says:

Favorite thing between mother and daughters in my family has always been baking. Cakes and pies aren’t only for Sunday dinners. Techniques have been passed along the generations which is a small part of what makes it so special. It’s hard to stay upset when you share warm chocolate chip cookies with Mom

  17. Cecilia Lopez says:

My favorite thing to do with my family is go out for walks and picnics on some days.

  18. Courteney Munch says:

We absolutely adore going for nature hikes with the kids

  19. Dina Chan says:

I love to take walks with my kids after dinner and watch them play together.

  20. Andrea Mulder says:

My favourite thing to do with my boys is to take a nature walk and just let them explore and touch everything! It’s so nice to let them be kids and stop saying “no” once in a while!

  21. Jenn says:

I love lazy weekends when we just hang out at home in our PJ’s. My kids are so busy with their various activities and spending time wit their friends that we don’t get many of these days anymore, but when we do my heart is full.

  22. Minh-Doan Hoogkamp says:

As a mother of 3, to a 6 yr old, a 4 yr old and a 3 month old baby, my newest and favourite thing in the world is when we’re all together lying down, whether in one of their beds, on the floor or in a homemade fort, having the kids trying their best to make the baby laugh. It’s not always successful because either the baby isn’t in the mood, or I’m laughing so hard to quickly try and record it or I have a mommy fail and phone drops or runs out of battery and the moments past. But when it happens and that little voice of pure joy comes out, the look of success and love from the older 2 is just priceless.

  23. Laurie Bolduc-Cadieux says:

One of my favourite things to do with my family is go on nature walks and going fishing. There is always a great time and adventure when we go out. We always make our outtings fun and memorable. Thank you for this wonderful chance to feel beautiful for a day! I’m raising two special needs children and would really enjoy the bit of pampering and some photos to help keep that day a special one too 🙂

  24. Amy Sweeney says:

Now that we finally have some spring weather, as a family we have been enjoying our usual favourite activities…walks with the dog, trips to the park and eating outside in our backyard. We have a 2 year old daughter and are patiently awaiting the arrival of our little boy who is due in a few weeks. We look forward to having him enjoy our family activities!
